Realtor and Owner of Smart Vacation Rentals at Smart Realty
My path to real estate was unique, starting with a 15-year career as a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner. My love for the lake and home design drew me to real estate, especially around Possum Kingdom Lake. For the past five years, I’ve worked with my husband DeWayne at Smart Realty, helping stage homes, and assisting with sales.
My role evolved into managing properties, focusing on luxury vacation homes around Possum Kingdom. This exciting journey led to my receiving the 2024 DFW Real Producers Top Agent Award and ranking among the top 500 agents in the area. A highlight for me was expanding Smart Vacation Rentals from one to 26 homes in just a year.
At Smart Realty, we always put our clients’ needs first, focusing on what’s right for them for lasting relationships rather than short-term gains. This often means advising against certain properties if it doesn’t align with their financial best interests, as our aim is to build lasting connections with each family we work with. Equally fulfilling is our commitment to giving back – be it through church, community service, or aiding those in need. We’re deeply invested in making a positive impact, actively supporting charities, and even auctioning stays at our rental homes to raise funds.
Outside work, I love spending time with family and friends. This includes attending our kids’ sports events, enjoying weekends at the lake, and traveling together. In our family business, my partnership with DeWayne plays a crucial role. We complement each other’s strengths: he takes the lead in community work, while I offer support and simultaneously balance our family life and business growth.
Looking forward, my goal is to grow our services. This year, with three new team members, we’re planning more rentals at Possum Kingdom, new home builds, and innovative designs. We’re also focused on making homeownership at the lake more attainable. I’m enthusiastic about Smart Realty’s future and serving our clients.
